CollectionArtArtistMaxfield Parrish

Maxfield Parrish (1870-1966) specialized in fairy tales and mythology. He used a built-up series of glazes to obtain his beautiful translucent skies. Parrish had his own machine shop for manufacturing the props and making models for his complex picture settings. Prints of his pictures were widely distributed. Parrish also illustrated books, magazine ads and did large murals and panels for hotels and office buildings.
