George Cruikshank (1792-1878) born in London, he was known for his social caricatures of English life and his political prints that attacked the royal family, and leading politicians. He became England's most popular satirist. He is also considered one of England's most brilliant book illustrators. His book illustrations included works for Charles Dickens and books for children. In his lifetime he created nearly 10,000 prints, illustrations, and plates.
